Description: The Chamomile German plant is an annual, reaching up to 60cm in height. From May to August it flowers, sporting top-heavy flower heads with a fragrance similar to apples.
Color: Bluish green to deep blue liquid.
Common Uses: German Chamomile contains azulene, which gives the oil a deep blue color. This blue crystal is not actually present in the plant itself, but forms in the oil. The quality of the oil is generally graded by its azulene content, and a good quality oil will contain between 4.5 - 5%.
